Choose Life

The road to recovery is arduous and painful
The patient listens... Reflects...
Nods her head with a serious determination
She chooses Life...

A young man leaning on a corner post
Busy intersection… Reflects…
Throws the little white rocks into the trash
He chooses Life…

She clasps her empty stomach
He looks at his worn out shoes… Reflects…
They pick up the paper’s Want Ads
They choose Life...

A young girl tired of running
Watches the children play… Reflects…
Calls her mother on the phone
She chooses Life…

My heart is barely beating
My hands are barely hands... Can’t reflect
Helpless, Trusting, Believing, Waiting
Choose Life for me... Please.
