Guitars and more guitars..

My hubby loves guitars. He actually wrote a song for me when we first met. I was so flattered. Imagine that a song of love... In 1999 we hit a financial low point in our lifes and he had to pawn his guitar. It was a Alvarez Yairi CY 140(I think). I didn't know he did this until I noticed he wasn't strumming on his guitar anymore. I was heart broken for him. We couldn't afford to get it back, so he sold his 3k guitar for $250. A few years ago we saw a guitar very similar to his listed on ebay in Jacksonville, FL (that was where we lived back then). He and I are certain it was his guitar. It sold for over 2k on ebay. His next guitar he bought for 80 bucks on ebay. The next guitar he got on ebay he spent $1300.. It was a beaut, a work of art made by Sakurai. WHen we hit another rough spot he sold it for $1800 and bought a guitar that was well used and well loved for $80. The guy that owned this guitar had some intersting stories to tell of that guitars travels. Can you beleive it, that guitar had been to Kenya? and he had some pictures to proove it. Recently he invested in a beautiful guitar made by a NY luthier and another one made by a world famous luthier. I think he has inadvertantly become a guitar collector or a guitar broker. The truth of matter I just love to hear him play his guitar and sing. It takes him and it also takes me to a magic place. Its howver hard for him to play with 4 kids running around since everyone wants a turn! A few years back a bought a learning guitar (30 bucks) and the kids strummed the heck out of it... I have not seen it in two years!

Music brings my family together. Friday nights used to our concert night. AFter a dinner of home made pizzas, the kids performed to us. T plays his trombone and S clinked on her kiddy piano and B blew the recorder. It was fun. I think I will reveive friday night concerts.
